In one of the most surprising announcements in recent gaming history, CD Projekt Red revealed during the opening ceremony of Gamescom 2026 the new official expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, titled Songs of the Past. This new content will take Geralt of Rivia to a province never before explored on the continent: the mysterious coastal region of Letten.
The Return of Geralt and the Province of Letten
Located between Redania and Temeria, the province of Letten is a swampy and misty territory full of ancient folk legends, legendary monster contracts, and lingering political conflicts from the Northern Wars. According to the developers, the expansion will add over 30 hours of narrative gameplay with high-impact moral choices.
New Hunting Mechanics and Refined Alchemy
In addition to a new main quest chain, Songs of the Past introduces improvements to melee combat and an Archaic Alchemy system, allowing players to synthesize oils and elixirs that affect the behavior of colossal creatures.
