World of Warships Update 15.8: 11th Anniversary Event Brings Festive Rewards, Marlborough B Dockyard, and New Operations

Eleven years on the digital waves. This Wednesday, September 10, Wargaming globally released Update 15.8 for World of Warships, officially kicking off the 11th anniversary celebrations for the naval combat MMO that has kept millions of players managing fleets, studying ballistics, and fighting historic battles since 2015. The update is robust and goes far beyond a simple flag swap: a themed port, an Event Pass with two reward tracks, a Dockyard with a British battleship, and even new operations for those who prefer to start slow at lower tiers.

Maritime Parade Port and Free Anniversary Gift

As soon as you enter the game after the update, captains are greeted by the Maritime Parade Port, a port installation specially decorated for the occasion, with commemorative banners and a festive atmosphere. Wargaming knows anniversaries are celebrated with gifts, and they didn't hold back on the generosity of the free package available in the Armory after your first battle on the update:

  1. 11 days of Warships Premium Account — boosted experience and credits for nearly two weeks
  2. Happy Blastday destruction effect — a special animation every time you sink an enemy
  3. Blast & Bash permanent camouflage — themed cosmetics for any ship
  4. 3x "Battle of Santiago de Cuba" containers — historical loot boxes with varied drops
  5. 3x "Red Steel Titan" Premium containers — chance for rare items and exclusive flags

The gift requires no payment or special prerequisite: just complete your first battle (in any mode) and claim the package directly from the in-game Armory.

Event Pass: "11 Years of Glory"

The main progression mechanic for the anniversary is the "11 Years of Glory" Event Pass, which features two reward tracks and remains active throughout the entire update cycle — from September 10 through October 8, 2026.

Free Progression Track

  1. Commemorative "11 Years of Glory" flag
  2. Themed commander delmar_83
  3. Permanent camouflages "Moonlight Wave" and "Radiant Wave"
  4. "Happy Blastday" destruction effect (for those who missed the Armory gift)

Premium Track (Admiralty Backing — 2,500 Doubloons)

  1. Special commander General Greenwood
  2. British premium cruiser Orion '44 (Tier VI) — exclusive ship from the pass
  3. Permanent camouflages "Cold Ray" and "Blazing Ray"
  4. New "Press F" destruction effect — an ironic tribute to the gamer meme
  5. Permanent "Interdimensional Shift" camouflage for the battleship Zieten
Sanctuary Tip: If you're on the fence about investing the 2,500 Doubloons in the Admiralty Backing, focus mainly on the value of the cruiser Orion '44. Exclusive premium ships from event passes historically don't return to the permanent catalog, becoming collector's items over time.

Festive Rewards (Festive Tokens) and Early Access to Kurama

The Festive Tokens system returns in full force. By completing combat missions with ships from Tier V through Tier X and superships, players earn tokens that can be exchanged in the Armory for a varied selection of items — but the star of the catalog is undoubtedly early access to the Japanese supercruiser Kurama, available for 11,000 Festive Tokens.

In addition to Kurama, tokens can be exchanged for:

  1. Themed containers (including "Red Steel Titan" and "Battle of Santiago de Cuba")
  2. Economic bonuses and battle signals
  3. Research resources and premium credits

For more dedicated captains, the combination of Festive Token missions and the new low-tier Operations creates a very efficient farming cycle, since Operations also grant points for the Event Pass.

Dockyard: Marlborough B Battleship (Black Friday)

The Dockyard — the stage-based shipbuilding mechanic that has become a hallmark of World of Warships — reopens its doors with the goal of assembling the Marlborough B, the Black Friday version of the British Tier IX battleship Marlborough. The dockyard event consists of 28 stages, of which 23 can be completed through combat missions without spending Doubloons.

The original Marlborough was already known for its absurd artillery: sixteen 356 mm guns in four quadruple turrets, with a relatively agile reload that compensates for the intermediate caliber. The B version keeps the same technical characteristics but applies the noir visual finish of the Black Friday line — dark camouflage with golden details that has become a collector's item.

Spec Sheet: Marlborough B

  • Class: Battleship
  • Nation: British Royal Navy
  • Tier: IX
  • Main Battery: 4×4 356 mm guns
  • Standout Feature: High volume of fire with a fast reload for the tier
  • Weakness: Vulnerable citadel and armor profile — positioning is essential
  • Dockyard Stages: 28 (23 free via missions)

Three New PvE Operations for Low Tiers

One of the most welcome additions in Update 15.8 is the three new PvE Operations dedicated to low-tier ships. Until now, Operations were almost exclusive territory for mid-to-high tiers, leaving a gap for new players or anyone who simply wanted to relax with their smaller ships in cooperative scenarios.

The new missions scale difficulty according to the tier of the ship used, allowing corvettes and light cruisers to participate in objectives like convoy escorts and coastal defense with challenges calibrated to their firepower. Beyond pure entertainment, completing special missions within these Operations also yields extra points for the Event Pass — creating an alternative progression route for those who don't want to dive into the more competitive PvP modes.

Holiday Convoy Remains Active

The Holiday Convoy event, which began in August and precedes the anniversary season, remains available throughout the entire Update 15.8 period. Convoy tokens can be exchanged for ships, camouflages, and additional resources in the Armory, serving as a second reward track alongside Festive Tokens.

11th Anniversary Event Summary

  • Duration: September 10 through October 8, 2026
  • Free Gift: 11 days of Premium, camouflage, and containers after the 1st battle
  • Event Pass: "11 Years of Glory" with a free track and a premium track (2,500 Doubloons)
  • Dockyard: Marlborough B (Tier IX, 28 stages, 23 free)
  • Festive Tokens: Exchangeable for Kurama (11,000 tokens), containers, and bonuses
  • New Operations: 3 PvE scenarios for low-tier ships
  • Holiday Convoy: Remains active with parallel rewards

Update 15.8 reinforces Wargaming's dedication to keeping World of Warships as one of the most complete and generous naval combat experiences on the market, especially on commemorative dates. With overlapping reward systems — Festive Tokens, Event Pass, Dockyard, and Holiday Convoy — captains who stay active over the next four weeks will have the chance to build an impressive arsenal of ships, cosmetics, and resources without necessarily opening their wallets.
