Ragnarok: GO Opens Pre-Registration in Southeast Asia

Gravity has opened pre-registration for Ragnarok: GO, a pixel-art idle RPG, in Southeast Asia; those who sign up get progression items and a limited Poring outfit.

Gravity has opened pre-registration for Ragnarok: GO, its new pixel-art idle RPG, in Southeast Asia. The campaign is run by Gravity Game Vision (GGV), the Hong Kong arm of the South Korean company Gravity, and runs until the game's official launch, which still has no date. Players in the region can take part through the title's official website and through pre-registration on the Google Play and Apple App Store stores.
The information was published on October 16 by the specialized Asian press. The campaign rules, hosted on the game's own official website, bring a detail different from what was reported: for Gravity, the event period begins on October 14, 2026 and only ends when the game is released. Those who pre-register through the official page receive progression items for the first days of play and a limited set of outfits inspired by the Porings, the franchise's most famous little monsters.
Brazil, one of the brand's most important markets in the world, does not yet have an announced pre-registration. The campaign announced by Gravity is restricted to Southeast Asia, with no mention of a global or Western launch window.
A Ragnarok to Play with Your Phone in Your Pocket
Ragnarok: GO is an auto-progression RPG (the so-called idle), a genre in which the character evolves even when the player does not have the game open. Gravity describes the title as a reinterpretation of the classic Ragnarok's pixel art aesthetic, rebuilt over the world of Norse mythology and the character and monster designs that marked the original MMO.
In combat, the 2D graphics gain colorful skill effects, a more evident impact response and detailed presentations for boss battles. The gameplay was designed for short sessions: simple controls, an idle system for character progression and an offline mode that reduces the burden of long hours of play — precisely the point that separates the title from a traditional MMORPG.

The game's official description on Google Play lists the systems that support this proposal: automatic combat, offline growth, pets, class change, team dungeons and real-time chat. According to the store listing itself, new players receive 4,000 free draws when creating their account — a recruitment package that Gravity uses as a hook for those arriving now.
What the Pre-Registration Actually Delivers
In addition to the progression items, the pre-registration yields a Poring-themed outfit — the pink little monster that became the franchise's symbol and appears in practically all promotional material for the series. The rewards, however, do not land in the account on the day of registration: they are sent after launch, by in-game mail.
The campaign's official rules detail the terms. It is worth reading before signing up, because reward delivery depends on the account used in the pre-registration:
| Rule item | What Gravity says |
|---|---|
| Event period | From October 14, 2026 until the game's official launch |
| How to participate | Log in to the pre-registration page with a third-party account and complete the pre-registration on the App Store or Google Play |
| Account rule | Each third-party account can participate only once |
| Claim rule | Each character can claim the rewards only once |
| Reward delivery | By in-game mail, to the first character created on the pre-registered account, within 14 business days after launch |
| Condition to receive | Log in with the same account used in the pre-registration; different accounts do not receive the reward |

“It Keeps the Classic Feel of the IP”
“This new title keeps the classic feel that is unique to the Ragnarok IP, while allowing players to experience enhanced visuals built on vibrant pixel art.”
— Kim Jin-hwan, president of Gravity Game Vision, in the campaign announcement
The statement sums up the company's bet: instead of pursuing the realism of other mobile titles, Ragnarok: GO sells visual nostalgia. The pixel art is the same language as Ragnarok Online, released in South Korea in 2002, which arrived in Brazil years later and remains one of the country's most recognized brands among Korean games.

The pet system is one of the game's pillars and works as a nostalgic showcase: creatures that were only enemies in the original MMO return as battle companions and collectible items. The official store description also mentions team dungeons and solo dungeons, as well as class change — a mechanic inherited from PC Ragnarok that sustains the feeling of long-term progression.
An IP with 250 Million Accounts — and Strong in Brazil
According to Gravity, the Ragnarok IP surpassed the mark of approximately 250 million accumulated accounts worldwide as of June 30, 2026 — a number that adds up all versions of the MMO, mobile spin-offs and regional variants. The company also cites two South Korean surveys: the IP appeared in 2nd place among the most preferred Korean games in the Global Hallyu Trends, between 2019 and 2022, and in 3rd in the Overseas Korean Wave Survey, between 2023 and 2025.
The data that most interests the Brazilian audience comes from another survey: in the 2025 Overseas Market Korean Game User Survey, Ragnarok Online placed 3rd among the most played Korean PC games in Taiwan and Brazil. The study reinforces the franchise's weight in the country, consolidated by more than two decades of localized servers and by a community that has gone through different MMO operators.
This history helps explain why Gravity treats the brand as a platform, and not as a game: the company keeps several spin-off titles running in parallel, with different audiences and regions. The mobile market, which already has other Korean RPGs competing for space in Brazil, is the natural target of that strategy.
From the Closed Test to Pre-Registration
The pre-registration in Southeast Asia is not the game's first contact with the region. On July 9, 2026, Gravity started a closed test of Ragnarok: GO on Android, dubbed the Novice Test, with players from Thailand and the Philippines. The phase served to tune progression and stability before opening the commercial campaign.
Now, the campaign rules appear published in English, Indonesian, Thai and Chinese — a portrait of the markets Gravity wants to reach in this first wave. The choice makes sense: Southeast Asia is one of the regions where the franchise has its largest installed base, both because of cultural proximity to South Korea and because of its history of local servers.
The announcement also confirms a studio trend: Gravity has been investing in IP-based idle games, a format that is cheaper to produce and maintain than a full MMORPG. Titles such as Ragnarok Idle Adventure Plus, already available in stores in several countries, follow the same path and show that the company sees in the genre a way to attract those who do not have time for long raids.
What Is Still Unknown
Gravity has not disclosed a release date, price or device requirements. There is also no forecast for Brazil: the announced campaign covers Southeast Asia, and the rewards are valid only for accounts pre-registered within the event rules. Anyone who wants to follow along needs to keep an eye on the game's and Gravity Game Vision's official channels.
For the Brazilian reader, the scenario is one of waiting — and of opportunity. If the franchise's history in the country weighs on Gravity's decision, the arrival of Ragnarok: GO here stops being a question of “if” and becomes a question of “when”.
