Dave the Diver gets final free DLC with Subnautica 2

Dave the Diver dives into the Subnautica 2 universe in its final DLC. The free pack takes Dave and Bancho to Proteus in early 2027.

Dave the Diver's final dive will take its hero far beyond the Blue Hole. MINTROCKET has announced a free DLC in partnership with Subnautica 2, featuring a trip to an ocean moon, unknown creatures and encounters with a Leviathan.

Revealed on October 8, 2026, the Subnautica 2 Content Pack is slated for early 2027. According to Inven Global, the studio presents the crossover as the game's final expansion.

Dave and Bancho will cross dimensions

The collaboration with Unknown Worlds Entertainment, the studio behind the Subnautica series, takes the duo to Proteus. The ocean moon holds new creatures and resources, while Dave and Bancho hunt for recipes and help new friends.

The Leviathan joins the adventure too. The encounter brings Dave's routine of exploration and sushi-bar cooking closer to a universe where diving deeper can lead to unpleasant discoveries.

MINTROCKET director Jaeho Hwang said players had been asking for this collaboration for quite a while. The goal, he said, was to make the final DLC especially meaningful.

Free, but requires the base game

The pack's official Steam page is already available for wishlisting and notes that Dave the Diver is required to play. The DLC is not a standalone adventure.

The store still lists the launch as “to be announced.” That means early 2027 is the forecast, but the exact day is still pending. The page also lists Brazilian Portuguese interface and subtitles.

For those already splitting their time between dives and the sushi restaurant, the crossover promises a change of scenery without abandoning that mix. The “final DLC” announcement refers to add-on packs; it does not set an end date for access to the game.
